Longtime Centre County United Way staff member has been tapped as the organization’s new executive director.
Megan Evans, who has served as interim director since last year, was selected by the CCUW board to fill the role on a permanent basis.
Evans has worked in the human services field for 28 years, including 15 years as CCUW’s director of communications. She has been a “trusted and respected voice” for the organization and “brings stability, continuity and a deep understanding of the local community’s needs,” to the role of executive director, according to the board.
“Megan brings a rare combination of experience, dedication, and forward-thinking leadership,” Lynne Johnson, chair of the CCUW Board of Directors, said in a statement. “Her long-standing commitment to Centre County United Way and the people we serve makes her the ideal leader to guide us forward.”
Evans will oversee CCUW’s strategic planning, fundraising, community investment initiatives and partnerships with local nonprofits, businesses, donors and volunteers.
“I am deeply honored to step into this role at a time when Centre County United Way is poised for renewal and long-term impact,” Evans said in a statement. “Having lived in this community for nearly four decades, I know how much people here care about one another. I look forward to collaborating with our incredible team and agency partners to continue improving lives and building a stronger, more connected Centre County.”
